Support Nicholas Marshall
Nick is a solicitor who has lived in Woodbridge for over 30 years. Having been a partner in a major London law firm he set up the firm of Marshall Hatchick in 1995, based in Woodbridge but with offices in London, Aldeburgh and Saxmundham.
In May 2018 he stepped down as senior partner of the firm - though he continues to act on behalf of various established clients this does give him some more time to pursue his interests in the arts and conservation, and to become more involved with Renew.
Nick has always had a close interest in politics, though before joining Renew had never been a member of any political party. But after what he regards as the catastrophe of Brexit he needed little encouragement to put his weight behind Renew.
Always active in the local community in Woodbridge, Nick is a former member of the local Round Table and committee member of RSPB group, he is a director of a local community pub company and was a member of former Suffolk Coastal MP John Gummer’s fund raising group.
Nick’s main interests are opera and bird watching, both of which have taken him to many different parts of the world. As a singer he has given 2 recitals at St Mary’s Church in Woodbridge and has in participated as a soloist in concerts at Aldeburgh and in Italy. Future engagements include further concerts in Woodbridge and London.
With deep, long-established roots in east Suffolk and a strong commitment to the ideals of Renew, Nick relishes the prospect of participating as a Renew candidate for the Suffolk Coastal parliamentary constituency, aspiring to a new way of ‘doing politics’ - getting away from the old politics of left and right and helping our country towards a renewed, pro-European centrist future.
