Support Draeyk van der Horn
I was educated in wildlife conservation and landscape architecture in the UK, before moving to Holland and then Germany to become a plant based chef. Returning to the UK, I became a community-focused chef and food campaigner. My community project experience means working within the auspice of social justice, whilst collaborating with bodies such as local government, business associations, residents groups and campaigners.
In addition, I am committed to personal growth and development and contribute to the annual Global Conference for Transformation. For seven years I lived part-time in California’s Sierra mountain range, whilst running a smallholding on Dartmoor, which I manage with my husband. We now live full-time in the UK.
Inspired by my moorland community, I now volunteer with Nedcare and Moorcare 4x4 Force, both “care in the community” projects on Dartmoor. I became a Parish Councillor in 2019 and have a passionate interest in sustainable farming, growing and the food. I am currently developing a food business called ‘Beyond Sauce’ and am enjoying exploring the rigours and challenges of the food retail and manufacturing sectors.
