Renew began in 2017, when a group of individuals including James Torrance and James Clarke stood as independent candidates in the 2017 general election. They joined forces, with Richard Breen and others, to oppose the institutional and fractured parties that had brought the UK to a political crisis.
Renew was founded to fix our broken political system. It offers a home to those who feel left out from politics. Our volunteers give us their time and effort because they believe that we can change our toxic political culture.
Renew is a movement of independently minded individuals fed up with a system that is not serving the nation and are willing to stand up and do something about it.

Renew is powered by its members and supporters. Membership fees are the core of Renew’s finances, the generous support of the Renew’s supporters helps us reach more and more people each year. We do not believe political parties should be the toys of the rich. Parties are there to represent ordinary people from all walks of life. Political party donations needs to change, we have written about this here.
